I played a 30 minute or so session on FT this morning. It was one of those sessions where not a lot was going on really. I decided to post it anyway because maybe someone would see something that could help them or better yet, help me!!

your comments on early session image sound about opposite of mine, i.e. loose early to set up getting paid off.
ReplyDelete2:50 - auto fold J9o-co, come on man, get in there...
4:00 - i dont think you missed any value on river. this is a spot where i think a note is really helpful for perspective next time he c/minr.
5:30 - KK - i'm not sure i like flatting preflop there. mostly because the bb and utg are likely to come along w/ a call and you have no reason to be optimistic about them squeezing. on the turn, why the big bet (oh, now i hear your comment)?
8:10 - auto fold A2o-btn...WTF!!?!
9:10 - complete JTs-sb - i could be wrong, but i think you're much better off raising this almost always. either to take down the dead money, or isolate v. fish, or simply to help get some hand reading started (both opponent and your perceived ranges).
10:10 - AKo-sb...you open to 3bb, is this your standard size from there? i like to make it 4bb, but curious about your thoughts on why 3bb.
12:30 - KQs-utg, tag sb donks JJ7r, you fold w/o thinking or commenting. i think that donk/3b and btn raise are very noteworthy.
15:30 - A5o, i think i bet turn like always, but that's just me.
16:30 - AJo-bb, you 3b an open from sb from a tag. i think flatting that most of the time is best. thoughts?
19:16 - QTo, i think this turn bet is a little thin, i'm sure it's ok, but checking is fine too, since somebody will stab there a ton and getting raised sucks. on river, i thought the bet was way too thin, even before i saw the raise. just too much scary shit to hope that JT or A9 call you, imo.
21:00 - KQo, i think the donk is fine, and the check is standard, but i'm not sure on the river. it worked, so thats cool, but it was a very expensive play. this could be a good general spot to do some combo counting, db mining, etc....
italians ftmfw!
i think you may make decisions too quickly and click the auto-fold button too much. this just mho, and prolly vestige from mass-tabling, but fwiw...
31:00 - KQ - str8, nh.

ReplyDeleteI have had problems starting out sessions loose and aggro, getting myself good and stuck and then spewing a nice 15-20 buy ins. So I am kind of going for a little Tilt control. Your way may be better overall, but I think for me its important to try to keep the animal at bay.

Probably correct fro better players but one of my HEM stat reviews found that I was a huge loser with J9 so I fold it.

Ya, probably a case of Fancy Play Syndrom ( FPS going forward)
8:10 - auto fold A2o-btn...WTF!!?!
Kinda nitty huh

Agree, mistake by me

No thoughts at all, Fulltilt shortcuts had it set for pot and its weird in blinds. I will do 4 in that spot.
12:30 - KQs-utg, tag sb donks JJ7r, you fold w/o thinking or commenting. i think that donk/3b and btn raise are very noteworthy.
That player who donked IowaSwarm I consider a pretty big postflop nit plus with a $85 stack behind a fold seemed no brianer. I was also blabbing away on different subject and not really focused on hand.
15:30 - A5o, i think i bet turn like always, but that's just me.
16:30 - AJo-bb, you 3b an open from sb from a tag. i think flatting that most of the time is best. thoughts?
I used to always flat hands like this but it seems like 3 betting most of my playable hands in position against the super wide ramge of a SB steal is more profitable and also a cheap way to give off a LAG image. I think it also makes BB less likely to mess with you and gives you the occasional walk.

My thinking was that he is playing 52% of his hands 9 ( samplesize obv) and seems to be not so good. You may be right.

I make those goofy bets kind of a lot and I would guess they are profitable. I should dig through HEM and do some research. As far as combo counting, refer to Leatherass!

This is good advice I do play fast and make quick decisions. I know when I watch other players I always think they are so slow and deliberate. I do think that mostly your first instinct is best but its silly to make dumb mistakes without thinking things through, which I do for sure.
Thanks for comments.
